Beyond Time
Bruckner's triumphant Mass in E Minor reaches beyond time to touch the eternal. Writing for an eight-part chorus and 15-piece orchestra with oboes, trumpets, horns, clarinets, trombones and bassoons, Bruckner drew on his virtuosity and his faith to create a Mass that is brilliant, spiritual and deeply personal. The Mass is paired naturally and powerfully with five of Bruckner's soulful a cappella motets: Os Justi, Locus Iste, Christus Factus Est, Ave Maria and Vexilla Regis.
