PADC 2016 Community Nite, feat. Oz Noy Trio at Yoshi's
Join the Piedmont Appreciating Diversity Committee (PADC) at the 6th annual Community Night at Yoshis for  dinner and an extraordinary night of music from the highly acclaimed Oz Noy Trio.  

Its Jazz. It just doesnt sound like it.   This is how virtuoso guitarist Oz Noy describes his intoxicating blend of jazz, funk, rock, blues, and R&B. The powerful trio includes Noy  and an all-star rhythm section of drummer Dave Weckl(Chick Corea, George Benson, Robert Plant) and multiple Grammy Nominee Jimmy Haslip. The group  plays  from a solid delta base that expands into the full spectrum of genres influenced by the blues.  

The Oz Noy Trio performsat 8:00pm Friday April 29 at Yoshi's Jack London Square. The $95 ticket price  includes dinner, one drink, and the performance. Proceeds will benefit PADC's Grants Program, which has awarded nearly $6,000 so far this year for educational programming, events, and materials supporting and promoting diversity in the Piedmont schools. .
Oz Noykicked off his professional career at the age of thirteen, playing jazz, blues, pop, and rock music with many of the top musicians in his native Israel. By his mid twenties he was already one of the nations top studio guitarists, and since his 1996 arrival in New York, has made a huge impact on the local and international music scene

For more than 25 years, Dave Weckl has developed and maintained a reputation among fans, peers, and the international music community as one of the great living drummers. He has received numerous accolades and honors; Modern Drummer inducted Dave into their Hall of Fame and named him one of the 25 best drummers of all time.

Bass player Jimmy Haslip met guitarist Robben Ford and keyboardist Russell Ferrante and formed a group to record Robbens first solo recording on Electra-Asylum. This critically acclaimed album, called  The Inside Story became a landmark recording, and led to the formation of The Yellowjackets, now two-time Grammy winners.
