The most famous work of Georg Friedrich Handel, Messiah, has become an important Christmas staple for many people, despite its having been written for performances closer to Easter. Based on verses from the King James Bible, this 53-movement oratorio takes nearly every possible element of musical beauty and plants it solely on the ears and hearts of listener and singer alike! If you've never taken in a Messiah, come and be taken in! For those of you who like to sing, you'll be encouraged to do so during the Hallelujah Chorus two-thirds of the way in.
We are accompanied by the Octavos Chamber Orchestra and our guest soloists.
Jean Leonard, Soprano
Ann Marie Adamick, Alto
Brendan Hoffman, Tenor
Woodrow Bynum, Bass
