Schubert wrote six masses during his tragically short life. The G-Major Mass is a great work of the eighteen year old Schubert. The E-flat Mass - his final - was intended for the parish where Schubert had been a torchbearer for Beethoven's funeral procession. Schubert composed his Octet in F Major on commission from an accomplished clarinetist. Come hear a subsection of the Octavos Chamber Orchestra perform these excerpts of this charming piece.
