Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project
Vashon Chamber Music Artistic Directors, Rowena Hammill and Douglas Davis, are proud to present the Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project. The Girsky String Quartet explores all 16 Beethoven quartets in chronological order in a multi-year project. The events are conducted in lecture-recital format, with Hammill explaining musical background, structure and themes before each performance. The venue is charming and intimate, resulting in a chamber music salon-style experience for performers and audience.
November 8th is a special preview concert of the Girsky Quartet's November tour of the Los Angeles area. The program consists of the Mendelssohn Quartet in a minor, Erwin Schulhoff's first quartet and Beethoven Quartet op.59 no.3.
