Azure Family Concert: Friction Quartet
The Azure Family Concert features the Friction String Quartet and host pianist Stephen Prutsman. "The members of the Friction Quartet four gifted and alert young string players with roots in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music seem to have adopted an appropriate name not just for their ensemble, but for an entire vein of musical thought. Since many with autism (or related challenges) cannot attend traditional music performances due to uncontrollable vocalizations or physical movements, the St. Lawrence String Quartet and long-time collaborator pianist Stephen Prutsman, felt a real need to create a musical environment whereby not only are such behaviors not frowned upon, but accepted and embraced.
Azure concerts are approximately one hour in length. Family members and caregivers of all ages are welcome to attend.
Tickets can be reserved beginning Oct. 23, 2015.
