The Rendezvous
The Rendezvous is one of NYC's hottest events featuring live performances from independent artists taking place in the World Famous Community of  Harlem. The first edition of The Rendezvous of 2012 takes place on Monday, January 30th  at  Shrine World Music Venue, 2271 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. bet. 133rd & 134th Street.

Come out and enjoy an incredible night of music and celebration in the heart of Harlem, NYC!

This edition of The Rendezvous has a Howard University(HU) flair and features live performances from:

AMMA WHATT? - Ask her who she is. She'll say "Amma Singer, Amma Songwriter, Amma whole lotta things!" (...including a Howard University Alum). Vocal Producer, Actress, Teacher, and Writer are some of the other roles she often takes on. Amma, playfully known as "Amma Whatt?" is a multi-talent whose star shines brightly in every post she holds.

As a working support vocalist, Amma has toured and done shows with the Glory of NY Gospel Singers (Italy), Ruben Studdard, Karen Clark-Sheard, Ki-Ki Sheard, Shirley Murdock, Howard Hewitt, Melba Moore, Byron Cage, Rob Murat, Tulani Kinard and more! She was also a Hollywood finalist in the 2007 season of American Idol. Amma graces the big screen in the movie August Rush where she performs the Academy Award nominated song "Raise it Up".

Get ready for Amma's debut EP, to be released this Spring\will lift, console, arrest, and impress the listener with an unprecedented r&b/hip-hop/jazz/world/house vibe.

TUAN X - Tuan X is a Singer, MC, Writer & Actor from the "Bed-Stuy" section of Brooklyn, NY.

As an entertainer, he has been fortunate enough to grace many a stage. From the floors of City Hall & collegiate auditoriums, to legendary venues such as the Apollo Theater, Sputnik, Santos, & Radio Star, to High School stages & rehab centers. Tuan X is an avid supporter of the ASPCA and has performed for their efforts in raising awareness & helping to prevent cruelty to animals.

He intends to lead the way with a new sound; rooted from the past yet blossoming in brilliant design for the future. Tuan X sets standards in a new era of R&B/Hip-Hop, a sound that is his own.

COLLETTE -Singer, songwriter and composer Collette was born and raised in South Carolina.Her musical journey began with piano lessons at the tender age of 5,hours spent at the side of her gospel-singing mother,saxophone throughout her school band years,and a transformative turn as a Go-Go music singer while studying at Washington D.C.'s Howard University.

In 2008, she released her debut "Experience Collette,"
a fresh new take on hip-hop/soul. The single "You Don't Know" earned airplay across the world and spawned a successful promo tour.

Her evolving soul sound has been featured on Music Choice network, CentricTV.com,singersroom.com and SoulBounce.com among others. She's shared the stage with Chrisette Michele, Eric Roberson,  Rachelle Ferrell, Talib Kweli, MC Lyte and others.And in 2011, she released a fan request EP  "Coco By Request" which featured a critically-acclaimed remake of Erykah Badu's "Orange Moon."

Collette has earned the prestigious John Lennon International Songwriting Competition's Holiday Prize for her composition "Keep Christmas Alive," and was
nominated for the 2011 "Best Female Vocalist" Reader's Choice award by SoulTracks.com.


In addition to the live performances Dance to the music of The Legendary Chris Washington (HU Alum), heard daily Monday - Thursday at 12Noon on "Legends Lounge" on RhythmAndSoulRadio.com.

It's a night full of Howard University Alums so all HU alumni in the NYC area are invited to come out and enjoy the talents of your fellow Bisons.

"MamaSoul" (also an HU alum) of the Musical Pathways Radio Show on RhythmAndSoulRadio.com will be your hostess.

The Rendezvous takes place as always at Shrine World Music Venue at 2271 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. bet. 133rd & 134th Street in Harlem, USA.

Doors Open at 7PM.  Live Performances begin at 8:00PM Admission is $10.00.
