Mt.Rainier Rhythm and Blues Festival
A beautiful spot on earth near the foot of Mt.Rainier. This 5th annual Festival in Mineral,WA. is sure to be an amazing day of music featuring an international lineup. From Germany, we have Georg Schroeter and Marc Breitfelder, winners of the 2011 International Blues challenge (IBC) in Memphis,TN. in the solo/duo category. They made music history by being the first European group to win the IBC and they are ending their north american tour with a 4 piece band at this festival. This will also be their only appearance in Washington state. Also from the international scene, we have Deb Rhymer, a power house vocalist from Vancouver,BC Canada. She is well known for her Bette Midler tribute shows, but she can also sing the Blues like very few woman can. 2011 IBC finalist in the solo/duo category, Nick
Vigarino's "Back Porch Stomp" will be heating things up on stage as will IBC finalists in the band category and international touring band, The Randy Oxford Band. Other great bands on this day include The Red Hot Blues Sisters, Little Bill and The Blue Notes,Maia Santell and her all-star Blend and The Rafael Tranquilino Band. This Festival also features great food and beverage from regional sources. The Legendary Mineral Lake Event Center Bon-Fire will be going as always and all musicians are welcome to jam around the bon-fire. Camping and RV on site and plenty of additional lodging near by. The Mineral Lake Event Center is only 90 minutes or less from most major metro areas in Western,WA. as well as Yakima,WA. and Portland,OR.
