Plant & Sing 2011
Held at the Manor's magnificent and historic grounds, Plant & Sing is a family friendly benefit featuring music, singing, barn dancing, literature, drama, planting, farming and eating!
Oct. 7 Contradance in the Havens House Barn, 7 p.m. with caller Dave Harvey.
Oct. 8 Autumn at the Manor. Family farm activities, an autumn woodland walk by Ray Smith at 10 a.m. and then music, 11am - 6pm, featuring The Free Seedlings, Bluegrass Viola Caleb Elder, Island Folk, Joe Hannah, and Bluegrass headliner Straight Drive. Admission also for literature events and readings, featuring Scott & Megan Chaskey, Magdalene Brandeis, Brad Davis and Food & history talks by Bryan Futerman and Mac Griswold, and a staged reading of Joe Pintauroʼs "Mens Lives", based on Peter Matthiesonʼs novel, 3 p.m.
Oct. 9. Garlic planting / sweet potato harvest / winter rye sewing followed by musical performances beginning at 3 p.m. with sets from DuneGrass, The Sun Parade, Anais Mitchell and headliners Rufus & Martha Wainwright.
Posted prices are for advance sale only. Add $5.00 per ticket for door purchases for Saturday and Sunday events.
