Dave Nachmanoff New Song Showcase Live at The Monkey House! w/ Ira Marlowe Opening
Not many people get to realize their early dreams - Dave Nachmanoff dreamt of working with singer/songwriter Al Stewart, and now tours as his lead guitarist and accompanist, and often as his opening act. From performing with folk legend Libba Cotten at the age of 9, to playing in a rock band with his two brothers, Dave went on to earn a PhD in philosophy and slowly build a grassroots following touring all over the US, first on his own, and later with Al Stewart. In addition to frequent touring, he is now writing and recording custom songs for people and using his recording studio to produce other artists as well. A truly independent musician, Dave's career is varied and never predictable.
In late July, Dave Nachmanoff will be going to Wales, to record a new studio album at Red Kite Studio (www.redkitestudio.co.uk). It will be engineered and produced by Martin Levan, a Grammy award winning engineer/producer who has worked on some fantastic projects over the years. The album will feature many of the musicians who performed on Al Stewart's "Year of the Cat" album and who performed at Al's Royal Albert Hall shows. Over the summer, Dave will send a more information about the new record as things develop!
In advance of the recording sessions, Dave would like to have a chance to give some of the new material a try in front of a live audience, and has a show in Berkeley setup which will be largely a showcase for the new songs! If you have been a long time listener, or only recently discovered his music, this will be a nice chance for a sneak preview, and could be a way to have some input about the songs. Come on out and bring a friend!
The Monkey House is an intimate art space offering high-quality concerts with an old Vaudeville vibe and unusually fine acoustics. IRA MARLOWE (chief monkey-in-residence) will be opening, and he is a fantastic and interesting songwriter who you should definitely check out.
