La Rafle
This award-winning epic depicts for the first time on screen the French police operation responsible for the mass arrest of some 13,000 Parisian Jews, including more than 4,000 children, in the summer of 1942. Detained in a stadium under hellish conditions, a Jewish doctor (Jean Reno, The Da Vinci Code) aided by a Protestant nurse (Melanie Laurent, Inglourious Basterds) struggles to minister to the doomed deportees.
