Michael Allen Harrison & Friends in concert - A Benefit for Rhonda Kennedy
The Jeremy Wilson Foundation musicians' emergency health and services organization and Michael Allen Harrison invite music lovers of all ages; and the friends, family and fans of longtime Portland singer, Rhonda Kennedy, to an intimate night of music, celebration and fundraising.

The concert and benefit is being held in support of the courageous Rhonda Kennedy, who is ongoing a serious battle with uterine cancer.

The evenings events will include: two sets of music from pianist (and the events MC!) Michael Allen Harrison and special guest performers; a silent auction; and an early meet and greet starting at 5:30 with Michael Harrison, his guest performers and the beloved Rhonda Kennedy.

Rhonda Kennedy
Many people first knew Rhonda Kennedy through hearing her deep, comforting voice on KBOO, where she had a wildly popular show with Fiona Martin called "The Goddesses of the Airwaves". She started singing at 19 and has sung with a number of groups, perhaps best known in Portland for the group she formed, and performed with, Women in Blues.

Not only is Rhonda a talented singer. She has until recently been a caretaker for a gentleman with multiple sclerosis. During her live-in situation with him, she was rushed to the hospital and it was then that she discovered she had Stage 3C2, Grade 2 endometrioid adenocarcinoma uterine cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes in her pelvis and aorta. She has had a full hysterectomy and has undergone both chemotherapy treatments and a program of radiation.  You can learn more and make a tax-deductible contribution to her relief fund at: http://thejwf.org/rhonda-kennedy/

The Jeremy Wilson Foundation 501(c)3
The JWF is a Portland, Oregon based musicians' nonprofit health and services organization supported by friends, family and fans. JWF creates better access to resources and information and through event and online fundraising services makes it easy to directly assist individual musicians and their families during medical emergencies.

There is a dearth of relief organizations assisting working musicians who are at high risk of serious financial harm in times of medical crisis. Many artists simply cannot afford basic health insurance. They are self-employed and do not receive employee benefits and are twice as likely as the general public to be uninsured.*

The JWF's namesake, musician Jeremy Wilson (Dharma Bums, Pilot, Oregon Music Hall of Fame 2011 inductee) formed the JWF in June of 2010 as a result of his personal experiences after being diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition called Wolf-Parkinson-White. Jeremy has learned "his education by fire," about the need for adequate healthcare for our community of musicians. Due to the great outpouring of goodwill he experienced from those that have helped him through his four surgeries, Jeremy formed the JWF so that fellow musicians, and the members of the communities they serve, could have a way to work together to assist individual musicians and their families during medical crisis.

In the last 4 years the JWF has granted over $200,000.00 to local musicians in need of financial assistance during medical emergencies. Find out how your support makes music at: www.thejwf.org
