Decline & Fall, or;

Part variety trunk show, part music hall review, Decline & Fall; or A Guide to How the End Begins for Those Too Big To Fail explores issues of empire: personal, historical, societal, and fantastical, both on the rise and in decline.

A multi-faceted story surrounding Chaco Canyon, the glory of Rome, and man-made feats of incredible complexity, Decline & Fall is a vast, ensemble-driven piece weaving together myriad narratives into a complex analysis of building empires, and their ultimate mortality.

Decline & Fall is presented in an Excavations style-workshop format, with each show treated essentially as a preview. At the end of each performance, there will be a brief talkback with the playwright and director, inviting audience feedback and creating space for a wider discussion on format, themes, and structure. After each performance, the Decline & Fall team will go back into rehearsal and work to incorporate notes from these sessions. No two shows will be the same! Light snacks and drinks will be provided at talkback sessions.
