Sphere Ensemble Premiere Concert #2
Sphere Ensemble, a new string chamber orchestra formed by 13 young professional musicians from the Denver metro area, is set to perform its premiere concert on April 2, 2011.
The inaugural concert will be held at First United Methodist Church in downtown Boulder, and starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and are available online at www.BrownPaperTickets.com, and with cash or check only at the door the night of the concert. Student tickets for $10 will be available at the door as well. The program includes string serenades by Tchaikovsky and Elgar, as well as works by Mozart and Grieg.
The Sphere Ensemble is being started in the tradition of the great chamber orchestras of the world, including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. They will bring to their audiences the richness of a string orchestra with the intimacy of a string quartet.
