Out in the Night Film Screening + Organizer Panel: A Social Justice Fund Benefit for Gender Justice Organizing in the NW
Under the neon lights in a gay-friendly neighborhood of New York City, four young African-American lesbians are violently and sexually threatened by a man on the street. They defend themselves against him and are charged and convicted in the courts and in the media as a 'Gang of Killer Lesbians.' Out in the Night is a new documentary that tells their story.
After the film, we'll hear from community organizers working at the intersections of the criminal legal system, gender justice, and racial justice.
All are welcome! This event is free to attend, and all guests will be invited to make a gift meaningful to them. All funds will support the urgent work of gender justice organizing in the Northwest via Social Justice Fund NW.
