At a critical moment, Zemene crosses paths with Dr. Rick Hodes, a compassionate Jewish American internist, whose life's work is to help those in need.With his help she gains access to quality education and undergoes surgery to correct her kyphosis. Five years after her journey begins, she returns to her rural village, determined to help others.
