The Celestial Opera Company's Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci

The Celestial Opera Company, founded in 1998, is proud to announce its upcoming production of the double-bill of two one-act operas, Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci! Often paired together, the operas are two of the most famous examples of Verismo (a post-Romantic operatic tradition that expounds Italian country life). The operas will be fully staged, costumed, and feature a small orchestral ensemble. The operas will be sung in Italian with supertitles in English. The performances will feature a pre-opera talk one hour before curtain time. All performances will be held at The Woman's Club of South Pasadena, 1424 Fremont Ave, South Pasadena, CA 91030.
