Last seen at Chateau Pamplemousse, Daphne and Chantal were drowning their sorrows in champagne and chocolate bonbons while buying cheap shoes. Which one of us ladies has not called our girlfriends to soften the blow of a love affair gone bad? The sisterhood of bonding over a lover is as old as time. The discussions over his pros (tall, handsome, manly) and cons (snoring, messy, a little balding) are endless and require a little retail therapy, a dash of tears and some serious gossip.
The French know a little bit about love, so what better repertoire to draw from? Through the colorful music of Rameau, we will explore the elation and eagerness of new found love, the fire and fury of missed communication and of course, the reaffirmation that love is worth the time and the tears.
Brenna Wells and Teresa Wakim, sopranos
