In Light & Love: Gay Asian Pacific Alliance Men's Chorus 25th Anniversary Concert
Please join the Gay Asian Pacific Alliance Men's Chorus as we celebrate 25 years of singing out and proud for our community! "IN LIGHT & LOVE" will be a night filled with musical highlights from our quarter century of community outreach and entertainment. Music Director Randy Kikukawa and accompanist Desmond Tan will lead the men of the chorus through a choral repertoire rooted in Asian Pacific musical traditions, as well as songs that speak directly to our experience as queer APIs. The program will showcase many fan favorites, including Asian folk songs and Labi Siffre's political anthem Something Inside So Strong, sung at the 1993 March on Washington. We are also thrilled and honored to feature special guests Oakland East Bay Gay Men's Chorus; the Likha Pilipino Folk Ensemble and a special hula performance by students of Nā Lei Hulu I Ka Wēkiu hula halau. Light refreshments will be available during intermission, and served in the rotunda of this very unique venue! All seats are general admission. Online advance tickets are $20 Tickets may be available at the door, unless sold out (cash only): - $25 general admission - $10 students with valid student ID Many thanks to our sponsors at the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center and Queer Cultural Center, and many thanks to YOU for supporting us for 25 years!
