Two Sides Sounding: Unaccustomed Earth
UNACCUSTOMED EARTH: MUSIC OF THE SOUTH OXFORD SIX
New music ensemble TWO SIDES SOUNDING - soprano Eleanor Taylor and pianist Jocelyn Dueck - joins forces with composers' collective the SOUTH OXFORD SIX in a concert of works about crossing cultural divides. The concert will include new voice & piano works from composers Edward Ficklin, Kala Pierson, Michael Rose, Daniel Sonenberg, and Aleksandra Vrebalov, with narration and visuals by Kelley Rourke.

Michael Rose - Selections from his opera Ugetsu and songs
Kala Pierson - Circle of Ice*
Daniel Sonenberg - Detuned Radio*
Aleksandra Vrebalov - Selections from her opera Mileva
*World premiere - TSS Commission
7:00 pm - Pre-concert panel discussion, moderated by composer Tom Cipullo, with the composers
A limited number of STUDENT and SENIOR tickets will be available for $10 at the door before the concert, on a first come, first served basis.
This program is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts. In Kings County the Decentralization Program is administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc. (BAC). Funded in part through Meet The Composer's MetLife Creative Connections program.
