Images 15
Images 15 will provide a multifaceted auditory and visual experience for the audience. Gloucester composer Robert Bradshaw has written a musical composition inspired from visual artist John Stobart's paintings of historical maritime and other New England scenes. Stobart's painting was also exhibited to poetry students at Salem State University, and a contest was held for the students to write a poem to be used during the musical performance of Bradshaw's work. Composer G. Paul Naeger derived his musical inspiration from a poem by Aline Blanchard, an Ipswich resident. Ipswich composer Chris Florio, wrote a musical score he gave to his animation students in Boston, who then created an animated interpretation of Florio's work. Local artist Katie McElwain created a series of works inspired from a newly written musical composition by New England composer, Kay Barney. Dancer Anna Lisa Ledson, originally from Ipswich and now working in New York City, has choreographed a dance inspired from composer Warlok's "Capriol Suite" for strings, as well as two compositions by Thomas Palance, musical director and creator of this project. In addition, Palance has written a piece inspired by choreography from Ledson, with the intent to provide a framework connecting the other works.
