Tribal Theory, Los Rakas and CRSB
Tribal Theory of San Diego, California has established themselves as the trailblazers of Urban Reggae music. Continuously producing fresh musical compositions that are undeniable masterpieces. Formed in 2005, Tribal Theory's signature is the fusion of their Pacific Island culture with the feel good vibes of Reggae, grittiness of Urban Ska, and the soulful harmonies of R&B. This hybrid sound has the depth and versatility to span across many different genres including Reggae, Island Reggae, R&B, Alternative, Roots, and World music.Tribal Theory is bringing the "west coast cool" vibe all around the world. Headlining concerts all across Hawaii, Guam, and the tip of Eastern Asia. Over the years, the band has gained the respect of numerous music legends. Performing alongside artists such as Steel Pulse, Barrington Levy, The Wailing Souls, Fiji, SOJA, Collie Buddz, Katchafire, Common Kings,The Green, and J Boog; to name a few.Recently, Tribal Theory has been taking the Reggae world by storm. Releasing three albums in three years: Cali Love, Hell of A Night, and Tribal Theory (self titled). As well as receiving "Best World Music Album of Year 2013 at San Diego Music Awards. Winners of Orange County Mai Tai Rumble 2013 and champions of VANS Warped Tour Battle of The Bands 2011.
Los Rakas is comprised of cousins Raka Rich & Raka Dun, pioneering Panamanians by way of the Bay Area on the frontier of a new Latin urban sound. Known for their fresh mix of hip-hop, plena, reggae and dancehall music with both Spanish and English lyricism, Los Rakas represent the cutting edge of Pan-American flows. Taking their name from the Panamanian word "Rakataka" a negative slur used to describe someone from the ghetto Los Rakas have set out to both inspire fellow "Rakas" by empowering them to become successful despite their circumstances, turning the current Latin hip-hop world on its head. In 2012, Los Rakas released their EP, Raka Love, touring nationally and internationally. "Raka comes from the word Rakataka. They used that word to refer to people from the hood in Panama, but in a negative way. We took the word and decided to make it positive. But a Raka can go to college, and be a business man, you know." - Raka Dun in Latin Rapper
CRSB is a musical duo based out of the San Francisco Bay Area who create their own brand of Island Soul-infused Pop. Consisting of members Chris Ramos and Sonny B., CRSB combines honest and memorable songwriting with a heart right out of the islands.CRSB has maintained a consistent performance schedule while also releasing 2 Ground-breaking Projects the "LoveGun EP" and there Self Titled LP "CRSB". The releases has created a unique sound that only CRSB can accomplish; bridging the gap between Island Music and Pop Culture. CRSB's acoustic driven, ukeulele-based songwriting and their polished, Island Pop sound always leaves their audience feeling good and wanting more.
