EYES WIDE OPEN
Director Haim Tabakmans taut drama EYES WIDE OPEN (Featured in Cannes Film Festival 2009, Un Certain Regard) is about a same-sex romance set in Israels ultra-orthodox Jewish community. Aaron (Zohar Strauss) lives in Jerusalem and is a respected Kosher butcher, a husband, and dedicated father of four children. He needs help around his shop, so he hires the handsome 22-year-old student Ezri (Ran Danker) as an assistant. Aaron quickly becomes swept away by his unexpectedly strong feelings for uninhibited Ezri. But guilt, torment and pressure from the community soon catch up, and Aaron is forced to make an impossible decision.
