A Conversation with the Stars
Have you ever considered what it takes to create your favorite astronomical images? Tonight, GCC's own Barbara Falkowski will take us on an exploration of how scientific data is displayed, from simple graphs to the most spectacular NASA images. We will examine the process by which infrared light, x-rays, and other usually invisible parts of the electromagnetic spectrum are made visible to us. Finally we will explore how we can use our other senses to gain new insight into what we have already seen with our eyes.
