The Bridge Ensemble is a Baltimore-based chamber choir dedicated to exploring the links, both textual and musical, between pre-17th century choral music and the postmodernists of the last 20-30 years. We are 16 voices trying to "bridge" this gap of several centuries, and aim to create innovative and engaging programs that will push the boundaries of what a performance can be in the 21st century.
Beyond this, we are so full of love for our city and its unique culture and hope to mirror the creative spirit embodied by so many facets of our surroundings. This means that we are engaged closely with young and local composers, perform in new spaces, and are always thinking ahead to how we can innovate one of the world's oldest traditions in a way that speaks to our local conscience.
