Adelphi Orchestra

Our Mission

The mission of the Adelphi Orchestra is to serve the musical and educational needs of the citizens of New Jersey, with special emphasis given to families with young children, seniors and those with limited financial means. To further this end, numerous concerts are offered free of admission charges. We also strive to advance the orchestral arts through education, commissions, and community partnerships. Within the orchestra, we create a challenging and enjoyable environment where artistic excellence can flourish.

About Us

The award-winning Adelphi Orchestra is a professional, non-profit orchestra offering symphony, chamber and educational concert programs in Northern NJ and the New York metropolitan area. Formerly called the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, the AO is currently celebrating its 60th season of presenting concerts with accomplished national and international guest soloists. The orchestra holds an annual young artists competition that enables contestants to perform in a prestigious New York City venue and provides the winner with an opportunity to appear as a solo artist with the AO. Over the years, the orchestra has also collaborated with choirs and other area arts organizations in venues that include public schools and libraries, senior centers, and performing institutions.

Contributing to the success of the AO%u2019s history is the leadership of a number of distinguished conductors.  Through its high level of artistic excellence, the AO attracts and retains the region%u2019s best freelance musicians. The AO is a member of the League of American Orchestras and Chamber Music America.
