Pontiac Bay Symphony Orchestra is a semi-professional orchestra that presents ongoing concerts of music from Film, Theater, and Television, and regularly explores new programming territory. The orchestra has performed live to classic silent films and has staged old-time radio shows with episodes from 1940's radio shows, vintage commercials and announcements, and vocal and orchestral performances of popular 40's tunes.
The orchestra was also founded to provide a performance and mentoring opportunity for accomplished youth musicians, ages 12 through college, in which they rehearse and perform with professional musicians, music teachers, and adults from other orchestras.
Also unique is that the orchestra uses reknowned guest conductors, such as Hollywood film and TV composer Hummie Mann, and professional musician and conductor, Lauren Anderson, to conduct the concert performances.
Pontiac Bay was founded in July 2002 and is a 501(c)3 incorporated in the state of Washington.
