The Pacific Marine Mammal Center, formerly Friends of the Sea Lions Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization with a mission to:
1. Rescue and rehabilitate marine mammals that strand along the Orange County coastline due to illness or injury.
2. Release healthy marine mammals to their natural habitat.
3. Increase public awareness of the marine environment through education and research.
The Pacific Marine Mammal Center has functioned as the sole marine mammal rehabilitation facility in Orange County for over 30 years. 2011 marks its 40th anniversary. Once repairs are made from the tragic flooding of December 22nd it will be open to the public daily from 10am to 4pm for animal viewing. Tours and educational programs can be scheduled by reservation with advanced notice.
