Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.United States
Fraternal Mission:
Lambda Theta Phi provides the Latino college student the opportunity to be part of a family with a mission. What is this mission? To cultivate a spirit of brotherhood, to value an education, to promote unity among all Latinos, to be proud of and cherish our heritage, to assert roles of leadership, to develop character, to practice chivalry, and to serve mankind. In short, to raise the social and cultural conscience of the Latin male college student.
Chapter History:
The Beta Chi Chapter of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. was established on May 9, 2004 by 5 gentlemen who sought to bring the legacy and ideals, as set by our fourteen founding fathers in 1975, to the University of California, Berkeley. These gentlemen came together with the idea of introducing a positive image of what it meant to be a Latino fraternity that the Chican@/Latin@ community will benefit from. Also, with this positive image, these gentlemen set the precedent of what it meant to be fraternal men through academic excellence, brotherhood, leadership, unity amongst all communities, and service--living up to our chapter name, "The Institution of Evolution."
Since our establishment, the Gentlemen of the Beta Chi chapter continue to distinguish themselves through a service/social based programming--with an emphasis to academia and Latino unity. |
