An Evening of West Coast Swing with John Lindo
John Lindo, a West Coast Swing champion of national and international standing, is teaching two workshops and will DJ the dance which follows. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
After beginning in country-western dance in 1992, John Lindo quickly made his mark on the West Coast Swing circuit by garnering an astonishing number of awards and championships in Jack-and-Jills and Strictly Swings. Some of his first place awards include the U.S. Open, Grand Nationals, and Phoenix Champion of Champions.
Doors open at 6:00 pm with warm-up dancing.
The Workshops
6:30 pm - Blow Up Your Basics
Improve the quality of your basics with frame, stretch and more (for everyone)
7:30 pm - Shaping, Styling & Flare
An opportunity to move beyond the pattern (this lesson aimed at intermediates; there will be a simultaneous beginner-plus lesson)
Open Dancing starts at 8:30 pm
Advance sales are now closed. Tickets are available at the door $30 for workshops and dance or $10 for dance only.
This is an event for the LGBTQ community and its allies. The event is co-sponsored by Bay Area Same-Sex Dance Association and SwingOut.
