Lisa B. Domino Tournament

START

Each player has a 15 minute grace period after the scheduled starting. Once the time has passed failure to start will be an automatic forfeit. Each player starts with seven tiles. (In single competition, any remaining tiles are put inside what is called the bone yard. If at any time a player does not have a legal play, he/she must pull from the remaining tiles (bone yard) until he/she has a legal play or until all remaining tiles are gone. If at that time he/she does not have a legal play, he/she must say the word pass, letting the next player know he is free to play).

FIRST HAND

The first hand of every new game must start with double six (in singles, if double six is not pulled then go to the next lowest double until one is found, if no double is available to start the game players must fold hands, remix the tiles and pull their seven tiles again). Players must play the hand pulled including four or more doubles

CONTINUING HAND

After the first hand, the controller of the domino can start with any tile he/she wants, then the next player to the left or clockwise plays until the end of game.

MIXING TILE

The controller of the domino is the first to touch the tiles after every mixing. The player to the right (or back man) of him is responsible for the mixing. If the domino holder is not happy with the mixing he can ask for a remix, after that he can mix them or call the umpire and he will mix them one final time.

SPINNER

The spinner is the first double laid on the table by any player in each hand. You may play on all four sides of that tile only during the hand.

SCORING POINTS

All players must call his/her points during the game, after the next player plays, no points can be awarded. A player achieves points when he/she plays their domino and all sides ad up to a denomination of five (5) being the lowest, and thirty-five (35) being the highest

When a player has dominoes, by placing the last domino down on the table, they will received all of the points that are being held by the other participating players rounded to the nearest 5 either up or down. For example if a person is holding 22 points then the winner would received 20 points. If a player is holding 23 points the winner will receive 25 points.

PLAYING TILES

A tile is played, when the player has removed his hand or the tile touches the others on the table, (a player cannot play a tile and move it) at that point that tile must be played. All numbers must match at the connecting point (Mishandling or dropping a tile does not count as a play).

BOGUS PLAY

If a player plays and the end of the tile (dots) does not match he/she must take it back before the next player play or he/she will be charged with a bogus play. This can be called at any time during that hand by any player. At that time an umpire will be call to the table and the bogus play confirmed. Once confirmed, all hands are folded and tiles are remixed. The player committing the bogus play will have twenty-five (25) point deduction from there score.

All players will pick new tiles and the player that held domino before the bogus play goes first. (The player making the bogus play cannot hold domino. Its passed on to the player to the left or next player.) Pulling from the bone yard or passing when, you have a legal play is also under the bogus play rule but caries a fifty (50) point deduction.

END OF HAND

The hand ends when a player plays his/her last tile, which is a domino. Any remaining tiles from the players at the table are gathered and tallied, and points added to the score of the player that dominoes. The points are rounded up or down depending on the number (if the final tally is fifty three (53) the points added to the score would be rounded upto fifty five(55) (if the final tally is fifty two (52) the points added to the score would be rounded down fifty (50).

NO TALKING ABOUT YOUR HAND

Talking and having fun at the table is a must. However, talking about your hand in an informative way is cheating and is prohibited and could lead to a disqualification.

HANDLING TILES

All tiles are to remain in plain sight, either in your hand or on the table at all times. You may not leave the table with tiles at any point; only a WDA Official can remove tiles from table.

GAME LOCKED

A game is locked when players have tiles but have no legal play. At that time an umpire will be called to the tablet confirm the game is locked. If the game is locked, all players show remaining tiles in their hand. The umpire will count them and the one with the lowest point total wins the hand and is awarded the points from the other players. No one has domino. In the case of a locked game, double six starts the next hand.

GAME AND MATCH

The game is over when target points are reached by any player in the game. In the case of a match game, the winner advances and the loser is eliminate
