A Conversation with the Stars
Join us to explore dark matter with Dr. Andrew Robertson, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Carnegie Observatories in Pasadena.
Dr. Robertson will start with a brief history on the subject of dark matter, and then work to explain why the Bullet Cluster (a collision between two galaxy clusters) provides strong evidence for the existence of dark matter. Not only that, studying the Bullet Cluster can be used to go beyond simply inferring the existence of dark matter, to working out what dark matter is. Which is something everyone wants to know!
