Suquamish Tribe Reentry Simulation
In partnership of the Suquamish Tribe and PGST Reentry Welcome Home Program, we ask that you join us in participating in a Reentry Simulation on Thursday March 28th from 10 am to 12:30 pm, at the House of Awakened Culture in downtown Suquamish.
The goal of this simulation is to allow participants to gain an understanding of the significant obstacles faced by those coming out of incarceration and attempting to navigate their release while returning home to their communities. Reentry is a complex and unpredictable process and since each person has different individual needs, resources, and histories, each persons life path is distinctive.
Successful Reentry is not something that happens automatically upon release from jail or prison, but it is something which has a greater chance of occurring if planned accordingly and offered through a trauma-informed approach. This exercise will provide invaluable insight to professionals who are tasked with helping formerly incarcerated achieve a successful reentry. It will also highlight the effective ways Peer Support Specialists and Success Coaches can help navigate and advocate for their Peers during this journey.
We encourage you to walk in the shoes of one who is returning home.
Registration is required since space is limited to 80 participants.
