Spindrift Trio
Three outstanding musicians comprise the Spindrift Trio:
Pianist Anastasia Antonacos has performed around the world as a solo recitalist and chamber musician. A former member of the full-time piano faculty at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she earned a doctorate in piano performance from Indiana University in Bloomington. She is now a faculty member at the University of Southern Maine School of Music and a founding director of 240 Strings. In 2021 she joined Fox Islands Concerts as Artistic Director.
Bassoonist Alexander Davis has performed in summer festivals such as Tanglewood, the Banff Music Festival, and the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival. An energetic promoter of equity in the arts, he is the founder and Artistic Director of the Sugar Hill Salon, a chamber music series showcasing black and brown wind artistry. He is on the bassoon faculty at Montclair State University and is a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University.
Oboist Toyin Spellman-Diaz has played with the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Lukes, the New York Pops, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory and her Masters and Professional Studies degrees at the Manhattan School of Music. She teaches at Mannes School of Music and NYU Steinhardt School of Music, is the President of the Imani Winds Foundation, and is on the board of directors for the American Composers Orchestra.
