Chanterelles are one of the most iconic wild edibles in the PNW. Loved by mycophiles and chefs alike, they are a PNW staple and can fetch high prices at the store, farmers' markets, and restaurants. More importantly Chanterelles are beautiful, delicious and an important mushroom that is indigenous to our region - foraging for them is a fun outdoor seasonal activity!
During this foray Dan P (of the Conscious Collectors Co-Op) will dive into the specifics of finding, identifying and harvesting chanterelles and other mushrooms we find along the way. He will discuss their season, habitat and other characteristics. After a few hours of tromping through the forest you'll be treated to a private lakeside dock to enjoy a 4-course American BBQ meal inspired by foraged foods!
The goal is to empower you with the knowledge to forage on your own and continue learning about mushrooms and foraging. This foray also aims to have its participants connect and build community with others that share the same love for mushrooms, foraging and yummy food that we do!
- We ask that you carpool/come with friends as much as possible as car parking is limited at our foraging locations.
- We ask that you be fully vaccinated and bring and wear a mask when in close proximity to others outside of your home, and while using the restroom inside.
- Rain or shine - please have appropriate rain gear and a change of clothes/shoes.
