Hands-On Miso Making Workshop
Here at Café Umami we love miso for the savory saltiness it offers and use it to enhance many of our dishes. Sign up today for a workshop that celebrates this fermented umami bomb.
In this fun, hands-on class, Chef Marie will talk about the history of miso, its nutritional benefits, and different styles and ingredients to incorporate. We will give you not only a recipe, but also discuss a general template to follow. This will better help you to improvise when you want to recreate the miso magic in your own kitchen.
What you'll get:
A taste sampling of different miso varieties (including Chef Maries personal stash!)
A recipe for basic miso
Hands-on miso making
A jar of your very own miso to take home with you
Ideas on how to incorporate miso into your kitchen beyond soup
Troubleshooting tips
