TELLING WAR STORIES: FROM TRAUMA TO TRANSFORMATION

Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 4:00 PM

Museum of Tolerance
9786 West Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90035

War and conflict are just the beginning of the story. Women survivors are often thrust into unexpected roles. Be inspired by the stories of extraordinary women who not only rebuilt their lives after war, but transformed their lives and the lives of others. Three uniquely accomplished women, Marissa Roth, Margaret Traub and Patricia Lanza, share their first-hand experiences documenting the courage and resilience of these women in stunning, visual presentations.

Marissa Roth is a Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist, documentary photographer and curator. One Person Crying: Women and War, her global project spanning 35 years of work, is a traveling exhibition. Witness to Truth, her portraits of Holocaust survivors, is on permanent exhibition at the Museum of Tolerance.

Margaret Traub as Head of Global Initiatives for International Medical Corps and a member of the Emergency Response Team, travels extensively to field programs around the world  including to Syria, Lebanon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Haiti  to assist and to advocate for those affected by crisis.

Patricia Lanza, American photographer and photo curator, has traveled to over 53 countries on assignment. She was a contract photographer at the National Geographic Society, and was the Director of Talent and Content for Exhibition at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles.

This special program is offered at no charge. RSVP below:
