One of the boldest statements in the Bible is John the Baptist's lonely declaration that he is one voice crying in the wilderness. Perhaps bolder still was the simple, muted message sent some three years later by two powerful Jewish leaders, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. One awful Sabbath eve, they took the crucified body of Jesus down from Golgatha's cross and gave it a proper burial in Joseph's family tomb. In this simple act, they told the world that they, too, were followers of Christ. Though Scripture doesn't tell us what happened to them after that, we can only assume that Joseph and Nicodemus lost the entitlements of their position and faced the same sufferings as the other believing members of the New Testament Church. This is our story, the story of One Voice a musical with strong spiritual impact, combining the excitement of contemporary musical theatre with the power of God's Word. One Voice speaks to every believer especially in the chaotic world of 21st century America who has ever heard the unmistakable call of the Gospel, and hesitated to act for fear of what others might think or say. But we cannot allow ourselves to believe that one voice does not make a difference. Just as John the Baptist once spoke so boldly of Christ's coming, we are to be the voice in the wilderness of today's culture, proclaiming Christ's love, His truth, and His return.
