SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club Meeting
Welcome! We would be delighted to have members and guests visit our SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club, a Golden Gavel District Award club filled with friendly and supportive Toastmasters, and some of the best speakers in town.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization's membership exceeds 358,000 in more than 16,800 clubs in 143 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.
SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club is one of the oldest and most advanced speakers clubs in New York City. Our club provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
We meet every Thursday at the New York Bar Association at 42 West 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.
The doors open at noon. The meeting begins promptly at 12:30 pm and ends at 2:00 pm. Our meeting is usually held in the first room to the right as you enter the building.

Wondering about the name?
SEC stands for Sales Executive Club, a group of Sales Executives who wanted to improve their public speaking.
Roughrider is the name of the room at the Roosevelt Hotel where the group of Executives began meeting back in 1956.
Chartered in 1956, SEC Roughriders is one of the oldest and most advanced Toastmasters International clubs in New York City.
Today, SEC Roughriders has a diverse membership and a culture that nurtures speaking and leadership skill development. Our club values the goals of individual members whether beginners or advanced speakers and leaders.
As a member, you will gain all the tools, resources and support you need, including:
An active, effective mentoring program led by the VP of Mentorship
A structured meeting format and proven learn-by-doing approach
Constructive evaluations, which are central to the Toastmasters philosophy
Access to the SIRA network (SEC Roughriders Alumni) who are now using skills learned at SEC Roughriders in the real world. Attend SIRA events held periodically at the club
