Alysia L Johnson
Alysia Johnson was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She first found dance at Dallas Black Dance Theatre and later went on to graduate from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she studied ballet, modern, and composition. Over the course of her training she has performed works by Robert Battle, Emily Molnar, Aszure Barton, Crystal Pite, and Kyle Abraham among others. A recent graduate of The Juilliard School and a two-time recipient of Juilliard's Entrepreneurship Grant she has served the Dallas dance community by founding and directing a summer program that caters to young artists in the DFW metroplex since 2015. This will be Alysias first season with HSDC.

Andy Lawson
Anyd Lawson holds a BFA in Dance from Chapman University in Orange, California, where he was instructed by Jennifer Backhaus, Laurence Rosenberg, Dale Merrill, Sean Greene, Holly Johnston, and Liz Maxwell. His training also includes summer studies through programs at Hubbard Street, American Ballet Theatre, Backhausdance and San Francisco Ballet. Lawson performed with Gallimaufry Performing Arts under the direction of Steve Josephson as part of the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, and has also performed in California as a guest artist with Anaheim Ballet, BARE Dance Company, Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy and Maple Conservatory, working with distinguished artists Mike Esperanza, Sean Greene, Mark Haim, Jennifer Backhaus, among others. Lawsons previous company credits include: Clairobiscur, BackhausDance, and Hubbard Street 2. In January of 2017, Backhaus Dance partnered with the McCallum Theatre Institute to bring modern dance and classical music into local schools in Palm Desert California. In the summer of 2017, Lawson moved to Chicago, IL. During his time with Hubbard Street 2 under the direction of Terence Marling, Lawson participated in the creations of new works by Peter Chu and Alice Klock. Also at Hubbard Street, Lawson participated in several community outreach programs that brought contemporary dance to local Chicago elementary schools, teaching students about the importance of dance as an art form, sharing insights behind the creative process, and allowing students to participate in contemporary improvisation

Terence Marling
A Chicago native, Terence Marling trained at the Ruth Page School under the direction of Larry Long. He then danced with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Nationaltheater Mannheim in Germany and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago before becoming Rehearsal Director for the main company there in 2010. In 2013, Terence moved on to direct Hubbard Street 2 until December of 2016. He has choreographed work for Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Hubbard Street, HS2, Robert Moses Kin and Point Park University among others. Terence is the founder and Artistic Director of COMMON conservatory, a full-day program aimed at dancers on the cusp of a professional career.

Jackie Nowicki
Jackie Nowicki originates from Chicago, Illinois. She received her BFA in Dance from Western Michigan University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was named Presidential Scholar in April 2008, and she was chosen as the Department of Dance's Distinguished Alumni for the 2016 school year. She danced for Pilobolus Dance Theater in their PCS company performing for them all over the world, and is certified to teach for their Educational Outreach Program. Her professional credits also include dancing for Mike Esperanza's BARE Dance Company, Calen Kurka's :pushing progress, and Marlena Wolfe's The Wolfe Project. Jackie worked as a part-time faculty member at Western Michigan University's Department of Dance, and for the past ten years had taught all over the New York dance scene including being on faculty at Peridance Capezio Center, and guesting at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. Her athletic, daring, and unique approach to movement has also landed her numerous master classes and conventions throughout the United States and even internationally in Rome, Italy. She is currently on faculty at Visceral Dance Center and guesting at Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago and is also on faculty for Celebrity Dance Conventions, Turn it Up Dance Challenge, and Stage Door Workshops, specializing in Contemporary and Improv classes. Jackie is also the artistic director of her own contemporary dance company based out of New York and Chicago, NOW Dance Project. Her choreography has been commissioned by numerous colleges, dance companies, studios, and universities including The Ailey School, Elon University, The HARTT School, Salve Regina University, Western Michigan University, Urbanity, the Peridance Certificate Program, and many more. Jackies work has received numerous acclamations and awards and was even selected to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, for the American College Dance Association's 2016 National Festival. She also judges for numerous dance competitions in the U.S. and Canada and is a nationally certified personal trainer.

Cara Scrementi
Cara Scrementi is an educator, choreographer, and arts administrator. She earned her MFA in Dance, with an emphasis in choreography and dance education, from the University of California, Irvine. She currently works at The Joffrey Ballet as the Academy Partnerships & Production Manager as well as the Composition and Improvisation Faculty for the Studio Company, Trainee, and Conservatory Programs. As an artist, she seeks to utilize movement through different mediums--such as live performance and screendance--as a vehicle to generate accessible, entertaining art with the intention of inspiring reflection and encouraging dialogue.
