A Doll's House, part 2
A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath, presented by Stage Door Players Rep. Directed by Craig Stoebling, featuring Robert Heffernan, Ellen Mitchell, Karen O'Donnell and Katherine Paulsen. Produced with permission of Dramatist Play Service and performed at St. Albans Upper Parish Hall. In 1879 Nora Helmer makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children and begin a life of her own. This shocking moment propelled world drama into the modern age. In a Doll's, part 2, many years have passed since Nora's exit...now there's a knock on that same door. Why has Nora returned? A smart funny and utterly engrossing play, A Doll's House, part 2 delivers explosive laughs while also posing thoughtful questions about marriage, gender inequality and human rights. This contemporary play asks how much life has changed in over a century for women like Nora in a world that often still has firm ideas about where they belong. A Doll's House, part 2 is it's own drama, a work that stands on it's own. In other words one doesn't need to see or know Ibsen's "A Doll's House" in order to have a great time at Hnath's "A Doll's House, Part 2".
