The Henry Clay Hotel
September 21 @7pm (doors open 6:30) September 22 @2pm (doors open 1:30)
This play takes place in the fictional town of Carbonville, in the coal regions of Pennsylvania. It is the 1970's, both coal and the railroads are fading fast, and towns like Carbonville are fading with them. The Henry Clay Hotel is one of the many old hotels that were at their best a score of years before this story takes place. The Federal Government, seeing many cities in similar decline, began providing funds for housing and economic development. Local governments and people of business began collaborating to clear away some of the old to make way for the new. Sometimes, people got caught in the way, but sometimes things just seemed to work out. In either event, day to day life simply went on. Even at the Henry Clay Hotel.
