Send Spirit Gum Off-Off to NEW YORK!
Local writer Becky Mclaughlin, who authored all three short plays that were read at our fall fundraiser BeneFright, submitted one of her short scripts to the Samuel French Off Off Broadway festival. Out of over 900 submissions this year, her play made the top 30 and is advancing to the festival! If her play is voted into the top six, it will be published in this years collection of winning scripts from the festival.
But we need to get to NYC first! There are a lot of expenses, but mostly they are housing and travel. Our goal is to raise $3000 in one night! Can you help us do it?
Join us for food catered by Finnegans Wake, drinks, another fabulous raffle, and performances of another three short plays by Becky McLaughlin. There will be a reading of her newest short play Xanax and Mimosas, a fully staged performance of Sunshine Boy that was recently seen in the Winston Salem Writers 10 Min Play Festival, and we will end the evening with the show that is competing in New York, Stay for Dinner.
