Stories and Songs from the Trail with special guest Bill Douglas!
Hello Scouts, parents, and friends!
I'm excited to announce that the BPSA 98th Rainier will be hosting a community dinner and fundraiser with special guest Dr. Bill Douglas! Bill is a Seattle native, author, and lifetime mountaineer. In 1950, his Boy Scout Troop 180, led by (former Govenor) Dan Evans, followed the route of the 1890 ONeil Expedition that first explored the Olympic Mountains: eight days, 60 miles, of which forty miles was cross-country - no trails. Dr. Douglass has now swum in 46 lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area, and holds the Seattle Mountaineers Six-Peaks Pin and is still hiking today. Because he loves mountains. Spaghetti dinner begins at 5, program with Bill Douglas begins at 6:00, dessert dash, raffle prizes, and more!
This will be a fun and exciting night of stories and songs by Bill Douglas.
The suggested donation is $10 per person and the proceeds will support scholarships and adventures of the 98th Rainier Otters, Timberwolves, and Pathfinders. Please pass this link to all of your friends and family so they can support our 98th BPSA Scouts!
This will be a great chance to strengthen scouting in our greater Seattle area community.
The 98th Rainier BPSA Scout Group is a Traditional Scouting Association for girls and boys, men and women and focused on a traditional, open and inclusive, outdoor and service program.
We are based in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle Washington.
