(In)visible Women NYC Storytelling Evening
(In)visble Women is a nonprofit, student-led organization focused on helping to make our community a safer, happier and healthier place for women on the streets and in transitional shelters. Based in the United Nations International School in Manhattan, our organization started in October 2017 and has been run and operated by high school students who have a passion for bettering our community, specifically those who feel that we cannot turn a blind eye to the disadvantaged homeless women around us. On Wednesday, May 22nd from 6-8pm, we will be hosting a storytelling event centered around the theme of security with all funds going directly to the Dwelling Place, a privately funded women's homeless shelter in Manhattan to which we have contributed to for the past 2 years (https://thedwellingplaceofny.org/). We strive to provide women who suffer challenges, from job discrimination to lack of affordable housing, with the necessities to help them adjust to shelter life and look to a brighter, safer future.
