2019 Free Public Planetarium Show
Feb 7 at 10pm--ANNOUNCEMENT: PLANETARIUM SHOWS AT BELLEVUE COLLEGE HAVE BEEN CANCELLED FOR FEBRUARY 8
Due to an all-campus closure, we will not be hosting the planetarium shows tomorrow evening. The 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm shows on Feb 8 have been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you are able to stay safe and warm this weekend. See below for more information about Bellevue College's closure alert.
Bellevue College main and north campuses will close at 11:30 am on Friday, February 8th, due to probable snowfall beginning around noon in the Bellevue area. All classes and events starting after 11:30 am are cancelled.
Both main and North Campus will also close all day on Saturday, February 9th. All classes and events scheduled for February 9th are cancelled.
We will continue to evaluate conditions on campus and in the surrounding area throughout the night (Thursday night/Friday morning). Should conditions deteriorate earlier than expected we will send out notifications as soon as possible via the alert system, email and local news sources. You can also check the BC web-page for potential updates.
Additionally, we will monitor the weather and road conditions throughout the weekend. If it is necessary to close the campus on Sunday and/or beyond, we will provide notice as soon as possible.
Thanks for your continued support and understanding.
Bellevue College will be offering free planetarium shows: 45-min show consisting of a video "New Horizons" and a live segment pointing out that night's brightest stars and constellations
When: Friday, February 8, at 6:00PM, 7:00PM, and 8:00PM
Where: Bellevue College Willard Geer planetarium, Room B244
READ ME FOR TICKET INFORMATION: There are 60 tickets available per show. Tickets will be released starting at 9am the week before the show. Tickets are free, but because there is limited seating, reservations must be made in advance.
Once tickets are sold out, they are gone for that month. Sometimes, tickets are released back to Brown Paper Tickets if there are cancellations. There is no waitlist. You are welcome to show up the night of the show; if there are any last minute cancellations, the presenter will do their best to get you into the show, but there are no guarantees.
Who can attend: In the audience will most likely be a mix of children elementary-age through adults. We do not recommend these shows for children under the age of six. If attending with young children, please be courteous of other guests.
What to expect for your show: Parking is free in any of the lots on campus on the weekends. We recommend parking in the parking garage and walking over to the B-building. The planetarium is located on the second floor of the B-building. If you have not been here before, please allow extra time to find the planetarium. A map can be found at http://www.bellevuecollege.edu/location/maps/parking/
When you reserve your ticket, your name will be automatically entered onto the will-call list. The presenter will check your name off when you enter. Doors will open 15-minutes prior to the start of the show. Because the room is dark during the show, there is no late admission or re-entry.
If you need to cancel your reservation: When you finalize your reservations, you will receive a confirmation email. There is information in that email about cancelling your reservations in case your plans change. We do not charge for these events, but we need your help to keep it that way; please follow the steps in the confirmation email to release your tickets if you cannot attend.
