A Rum Odyssey: Drinking the Exceptional Bottles
Have you ever curiously eyed the exotic rums on a bars top shelf? The unfamiliar bottles with a hefty price tag? Have you been tempted to try a pour, but want to know what makes them rare and costly? On January 15, 2019, you'll have the unique opportunity for an evening of rum wonkery and drinking a range of hyper-limited-edition bottlings of rums from Jamaica, Martinique, Cuba, Guyana, and Barbados--some at original strength out of the cask or straight from the still. Duncan Taylor, Velier, Clément--no messing around!
Jason Alexander of Tacoma rum bar Devils Reef has been stockpiling exceptional bottlings for years. Internationally acclaimed rum expert and writer Matt Pietrek (aka The Cocktail Wonk) is the perfect person to guide you through an interactive tour of Jasons treasures.
You and your fellow rum lovers will take over Devils Reef for the evening to enjoy rum the way it should be-in a relaxed environment where you can savor this incredible spirit and geek out with fellow enthusiasts.
Seating is limited, as are these hard-to-find bottles, some of which came to the U.S via suitcases. Light snacks will be provided.
We reserve the right to cancel with refund within three days due to insufficient attendance.
