Edgar A. Poe: The Man, The Myth, The Legend
How much do you REALLY know about Edgar Allan Poe?
This lecture will explore the myths, legends, and utter lies surrounding Poe's career, his personal life, and his death. We will also attempt to answer the greatest question of all: why do we continue to believe the lies?
Sponsored by the Collings-Knight Homestead, the lecture will be given by the writer/ producer/ director of the popular play "Shades of Poe", Patty Verzella.
The lecture is broken down into three portions, and each portion will be approximately 30 minutes, with a short break after each for questions, refreshments, and to explore our venue: the historic Collings-Knight Homestead.
Due to limited seating, please be sure to reserve your tickets in advance. If we have demand which exceeds our capacity, we will open another time slot.
***Tickets to this event are free for members of the Friends of the Collings-Knight House. For non-members, we are asking for a donation, sort of a "pay what you wish" so that we can continue to bring you wonderful educational programs like this one.***
Accessibility Disclaimer: This performance does not require standing or walking around, but the homestead does have a short set of stairs to enter the house.
