AFTERGLOW
The Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild presents Tellabration 2018: AFTERGLOW, a celebration of storytelling, on Saturday, November 17 from 6 to 9:30 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bethlehem.  General admission is $12 and includes light refreshments from 6 to 7, followed by a carefully crafted story concert for grownups.  All proceeds to benefit the Trinity Soup Kitchen.  Tickets are available online and at the door.  Note: This program is not suitable for children.

According to Denise McCormack, a member of the guild and professional teller, "Our stories are the testimony of our lives. Whether the stories are real or imagined, they capture our challenges--wins and losses--and important lessons learned. They are our source of refuge and empowerment, a road map to direct our paths. At Tellabration, we highlight some of those stories and strive to connect with our listeners.  We also hope to inspire others to join us."

Featured tellers for his event include:Rob Aptakar, Ingrid Bohn, Karen Maurer, and Judy England McCarthy, with Charles Kiernan as Master of Ceremonies.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

M.C. Charles Kiernan -
Storyteller Charles Kiernan is the director and co-founder of the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild, facilitator of the LVSG story swaps, and PA state liaison of the National Storytelling Work.

He has found success in his reiterations as Mark Twain and rambles on about his boyhood memories, the newspaper publishing business, life on the Mississippi and frogs. Mostly, though, he likes to talk about the river.

Charles also performs Americana stories, collectively labeled the "Lost Dollar" stories,a collection of Appalachian tales whose wisdom and humor is woven into the life of a little village stuck way back in the hills.

Notably, he also specializes in Brothers Grimm and other fairy tales. Be warned, however, he does tell them in their original spirit, under the belief that the "grimness" of Grimm serves a purpose, and should not be removed.

Robert Aptaker -
Rob Aptaker shares traditional and contemporary Native American stories gathered over more than 40 years of involvement with Native People of North America.  A member of the LV Storytelling Guild since 2014, he has shared stories and educational programs about pre-colonial Native cultures at schools, libraries, museums and pow-wows.

Ingrid Bohn -
Ingrid is a performance arts enthusiast. Her professional storytelling career began in 2012. She is proud member of three storytelling Guilds. Ingrid has appeared at numerous venues. Her repertoire encompasses several story varieties for all ages. Her impassioned delivery style will capture your attention and keep you engaged.

She performed at Musikfest, Mayfair, in schools, churches, libraries, camps in Pa, NJ, Ohio, West Virginia and Texas. Karen runs storytelling workshops for preteens, teens and adults. She is a member of the National Storytelling Network. Listen. Laugh. Learn. Lighten your load.

Judy England McCarthy -
Judy England-McCarthy is a professional storyteller and member of several  guilds.  This teller is a poet and author and has shared her talents at numerous events and festivals. Her stories are filled with both humor and wisdom.    http://jemjtt10.wixsite.com/jestthething-corp
