Take My Breath Away: Intro to Erotic Asphyxiation
Erotic asphyxiation - or breath control play- is the consensual restriction of oxygen to the brain for the purposes of sexual arousal, and is a controversial topic even WITHIN the BDSM/Kink community. Curious about how to safely, intentionally, and intimately explore breath play from an informed place? Instructor Andre Shakti believes in harm reduction AND the pursuit of pleasure, and has seven years of personal and professional erotic asphyxiation experience.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to*:
1. Recite the Do's and Don't's of consensual erotic breath play
2. Comprehend WHY people would be into consensual erotic breath play
3. Calmly and lovingly respond to potential trauma triggers
4. Confidently and safely execute a variation of consensual erotic breath play variations and techniques.

Instructor Bio:
Andre Shakti is a queer journalist, educator, performer, activist, and professional slut living in the DMV. She is devoted to normalizing alternative desires, de-stigmatizing sex workers and their clients, and not taking herself too seriously. Andre wrestles mediocre white men into submission and writes about the resistance for Rewire, Thrillist, MEL, Vice, Autostraddle, and more. She frequently lectures, coaches and advises on issues surrounding sexual health, politics and pleasure, gender diversity, sex worker rights, non-monogamy, and queerness. When not working, Andre can typically be found marathoning "Law & Order: SVU" under a chaotic pile of partners and pitbulls, and yes, she knows how problematic that show is.
